This piece is for my friend Jacob, who had recieved his PHD in English at UCLA in 2005.
... He taught me for 4 years before he ...left... and I'm really gonna miss him. When I had moved my acedemics were terrible (well ....to me)... I had no idea what I was doing anymore. Then my mother found a letter to a tutoring place and said that it would help me. and of course I thought "...its just another tutoring place that wants your money and doesn't really help you.." but I go anyway because my mother wanted me to. It was really funny because he actually heard and responded to everything I said. Usually people just ignore me, and then he'd tell me if the answer was right and add more to it. but he never told me my answers were wrong. He would tell me some were stupid (but that was after a year) I learned how to be more sarcastic in a funny way. XD Jacob would teach all of his students online without any extra charge, and stay up very late helping his students. Of course, he couldn't help us with everything (he was terrible at math lol) ...the last time I talked to him was on Tuesday, he was quizzing me on my midterm, he said that I'll do fine, and the next day.. he wasn't online...and he was only 35. Jacob died of Heart attack on October 24, 2007. "Good Night Sweet Prince May Flights of Angels Sing Thee to thy Rest." So yea, This is for you Jacob! I remember you would always make fun of my anime/Disney obsessions hahahhahahah. Thanks for everything, there aren't many English tutors helping students with their essays late at night. :] You were the best. I will never forget you sending me to Bristol farms with a 50 dollar bill to get half and half and carrots, while you were teaching my sister. and also to Borders to get my annoying little sister her book. there is meaning in this drawing, the flowers there, are called the Star of Bethleham, which means 'hope' and Sora running through the fields is a reminder to me that Jacob is is a better place and that I shouldn't be sad about it and Just to Move Along Materials: copics White Gel Pen Photoshop CS2 black pen Kingdom Hearts © Square Enix/Disney I know some of you are saying, "omg she is so stupid, why the hell is she posting this?? She just wants pity." but no -.- I just felt I should post this for my friend. I don't need any pity from anyone. I'm posting this in memory of him. |

Anyway, it's sad to hear about his death. And it's rare for people like that who works more not because of money. My science teacher died of a sudden brain tumor this past sunday. And it's always hard to move on from something like this.
It's a really nice piece of artowk, I really like the soft coloring and the pose of the character
ya.. it is a bit hard, but you always have to keep doing what you were doing and improve it.
